OWNERSHIP QUESTIONS.

Owning a BMW is one of life's pleasures, but many prospective buyers of the BMW 2 Series Active and Gran Tourers have one or two questions...

The third row of seats in the BMW 2 Series Gran Tourer fold away into the floor of the boot leaving a completely flat surface. The second row fold almost flat, as do the seats in the BMW 2 Series Active Tourer.

With no seats folded, the BMW 2 Series Active Tourer has a boot space of 468 litres. The BMW 2 Series Gran Tourer has more space with the third row of seats folded: 560 - 720 litres. With all seats folded it also has the most with 1,820 litres.

The BMW 2 Series iPerformance Active Tourer has a range of 25 miles on battery power alone, although for longer distances the petrol engine will kick in to aid the electric motor, giving a combined figure of 134.5 - 141.2mpg. On a journey of around 30 to 37 miles, it has a combined fuel consumption of around 62mpg, while for longer distances you can expect combined fuel consumption of around 40mpg.

For conventionally-engined models, the BMW 216d Active Tourer returns 72.4 - 74.3mpg on the combined cycle.

Both the BMW 2 Series Active Tourer and BMW 2 Series Gran Tourer have an all-wheel drive model. They use BMW’s intelligent all-wheel drive system called xDrive. Find out more about it via the link below.

The BMW 2 Series Active Tourer has an NCAP rating of five stars. The BMW 2 Series Gran Tourer has not been tested by NCAP, but both models come with multiple airbags, tyre pressure monitoring, BMW Emergency Call (call for roadside assistance using the car’s in-built SIM card, and in the event of a more serious accident the car calls for assistance itself) and Performance Control, which helps in cornering.
