LEAD THE WAY AND
LET THE WORLD FOLLOW.

BMW ConnectedDrive services and apps in the new BMW 6 Series Coupé.

Communication, information and entertainment – BMW ConnectedDrive services and apps give you a whole new experience of mobility. For example, you can set the air conditioning in your BMW 6 Series Coupé in advance via your smartphone, or use Information Plus as your personal travel guide while on the road.

ConnectedDrive Services.

Fitted as standard to all new 6 Series models, ConnectedDrive Services provides the driver with a wide range of information, entertainment and service features while on the road.

These include BMW Online, which gives access to current, localised information such as weather, news, an online search powered by GoogleTM and also office functions. In the Applications menu, it is also possible to assemble an individualised array of services such as webcams, fuel price information, parking information, as well as travel and hotel guides.

Convenient, secure and unlimited access to selected smartphone apps is also included. ConnectedDrive Services also provides access to the BMW ConnectedDrive Store, in which services and apps can be ordered and extended any time and anywhere to suit the user's individual requirements. ConnectedDrive Services offers all this and more, making every trip in a BMW a real experience.

Apps is a platform that enables the convenient use of selected smartphone apps in BMW vehicles. In order to make a variety of apps available for their customers, BMW not only develops its own apps, such as BMW Connected and M Laptimer, but also works closely with partners like Napster, Deezer, Spotify and Audible so that those apps can also be used safely inside the car.

Simply attach a compatible smartphone to the vehicle with the snap-in adapter if one is available, or a USB cable. All of the app's functions can then be conveniently operated via the iDrive Controller. The selection of apps available for use in the car is constantly expanding thanks to close partnerships between BMW and a variety of different suppliers. The BMW Car Hotspot provides the opportunity to enjoy a high-speed internet connection on the move. A range of different end devices can be used for this, from iPod™ and iPad™ through to laptops and mobile phones from various manufacturers.

Concierge Services.

Concierge Services from BMW ConnectedDrive puts the BMW Call Centre at your fingertips while you’re on the road*.

Whether you’re looking for a particular restaurant, the nearest cash machine or an emergency pharmacy, a BMW Call Centre agent is always on hand to help and can send address details directly to your car’s navigation system on demand. Concierge Services operates independently of the driver's mobile phone and is available at home and abroad, 24-hours a day, seven days a week.

*Concierge Services requires the ConnectedDrive Services equipment package and is available to purchase as an optional extra.

BMW ConnectedDrive Store

BMW ConnectedDrive Store.

Services and apps to suit every need can be purchased individually from the BMW ConnectedDrive Store, anywhere at any time. With the BMW ConnectedDrive Store, services can be flexibly selected and ordered even after the purchase of the BMW. This allows customers to choose from all the available BMW ConnectedDrive services and apps directly from their car at all times based on their individual needs.

The services and apps that can be ordered in the BMW ConnectedDrive Store have been specially developed to suit the needs and demands of BMW drivers. The duration of individual services can also be selected. This allows customers to order services for a specified period of time, for example during a holiday.

The BMW ConnectedDrive Store can be accessed on the go from inside the car, or via the My BMW ConnectedDrive online customer portal. The newly ordered services and apps are then accessible in the car shortly after being chosen and purchased. The BMW ConnectedDrive Store provides updated information on the selection of available services and apps at all times.

Online Entertainment.

The perfect song for every situation, every road and every mood. Online Entertainment offers direct and unlimited access to more than 22 million music titles inside the BMW – all without a smartphone or other device. There are plenty of tracks here to suit every taste. As soon as an artist's song or album is played in the car, it is automatically downloaded to the car's hard disc. For guaranteed listening enjoyment without any interruptions.

With the Online Entertainment offer, a flat-rate account lasting one year can be opened with any BMW music partner, for example with Napster, that can be used in the UK, Germany, France, Italy and the Netherlands without any additional costs.

Additionally, when listenting to the radio, there's a recognition feature that will display the track, artist and album, and allows you to start streaming the album, or any other by the artist. All while the track continues to play.

BMW 6 Series Remote Services

Remote Services.

With Remote Services and the free MyBMW Remote App (available in the Apple App Store and Google Play store), various vehicle-related functions, such as locking and unlocking the car, can be operated remotely. It is also possible to directly transmit selected destinations found using the GoogleTM search engine.

In addition, the car's location can be shown within a radius of 1.5 km. To use this feature, customers simply need to activate Remote Services once in the "MyBMW ConnectedDrive" customer portal at www.bmw-connecteddrive.com.

Real Time Traffic Information.

Real Time Traffic Information (RTTI), fitted as standard, provides the most up-to-date traffic information at all times. Precise details about the time and duration of hold-ups are relayed to provide almost instantaneous traffic information about motorways, country roads and main roads, as well as numerous urban routes. Intelligent alternative route suggestions help the driver reach their destination as efficiently as possible. The data is drawn from such sources as anonymous movement profiles from the GPS data of vehicle fleets, smartphone apps and police reports, and also takes into account established traffic patterns such as peak commute times.

The traffic information is clearly presented, with the roads displayed in green, yellow, orange and red.

BMW emergency call.

The BMW emergency call guarantees fast, targeted assistance round-the-clock as well as support from trained staff – in the driver's native language, even when they're abroad. If an accident takes place involving the activation of an airbag or the seat belt tensioners, an BMW emergency call is automatically issued. Relevant details such as the exact position of the car, the severity of the accident and the possible risk of injury to occupants are transmitted to the BMW Call Centre via the car’s built-in SIM card, i.e. independent of a private mobile phone. The BMW Call Centre will inform the nearest rescue coordination centre and provide assistance over the phone until the rescue services arrive. The emergency call can also be triggered manually in case other road users require help, for example.
